Weekend Mornings.

Saturday breakfast:

Blueberry buckwheat pancakes.
Batter ingredients: 1/2 cup buckwheat flour, ~1 cup milk, 1 egg, frozen blueberries, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.

Side note: I made my own buckwheat flour. It sounds hardcore, but it's actually not. Buckwheat groats are available in bulk bins, and all you have to do is put them in the blender to make them into flour!

I ate them with maple syrup and vanilla yogurt. I'd call that a successful breakfast.

What I'd call an unsuccessful breakfast occurred this morning:

WAFFLE FAIL.
I tried to make buckwheat waffles. Eggless, sugarless, oil-less buckwheat waffles. Substituting the aforementioned ingredients with a flax egg and mashed banana.

I have a feeling the batter was too mushy. ...

Luckily, I had some extra batter, so I decided to make a pancake. That would have turned out wonderfully, except that while my pancake was sizzling on the skillet, I was too distracted by having to peel layers of waffle out of the waffle maker.

Sunday breakfast:

Failed waffle and burned pancake.
Wow. Worst morning ever.

It's okay though, I somehow salvaged this breakfast.

It tasted good. That's what matters, right?

The day got better when I decided to head over to the farmer's market!

The weather was really nice so I meandered around for a bit. I only ended up with a few items:

White sweet potato, bell pepper, arugula, apple sider, jalapeno & cilantro hummus, and fresh farmer's cheese.
I'd just like to say that the hummus was the best purchase ever.

Afternoon snack.
This hummus is the best hummus EVER. (Not exaggerating). It doesn't even contain tahini. Have you heard of hummus that doesn't contain tahini?!

I don't know why I'd never gone to the farmer's market until today. I think this will become a weekly occurrence, though. Anyone want to join? :)

YAY I'm so excited. :)

The ingredients are: garbanzo beans, jalapeno, cilantro, olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt, and other spices.

I don't know what "other spices" entails but it's def tasty!!
